My Thoughts:
Seraphina, well what can I say about this book other than it completely rocked. The world that Hartman creates in this book is breathtaking and captivating. It is one filled with mystery, a bit of romance, self acceptance, and to top it off Dragons.Yup that's right dragons. It is only days away from Treaty's Eve, a day created to celebrate the peace between dragons and humans when things begin to go wrong. A dead prince, a rogue dragon, and the tension between dragons and humans seem to be growing. Seraphina is stuck in the middle of all of this trying to help Prince Lucian Kiggs but she has her own secrets to hide and it would be disastrous if anyone ever found out. Seraphina is our young heroine who is amazing to say the least. Seraphina is clever, witty, and gutsy. Her character is one to admire. She is quick on her feet and doesn't hold back. I especially loved reading the inner world that Seraphina has in her mind, her garden which she tends to filled with her grotesques. It is quite charming to see how she interacts with them and the hidden secret behind her grotesques. It was also fun reading how dragons differed from humans with there logical mind and yet could not grasp human emotion in the least. I loved this book and could not put it down. It had me reading page after page without even realizing it. I would look down and I would have read like 50 pages without noticing. I was that lost in this magical world. The words flowed smoothly and wonderfully. I can not wait for book two. :)
